I'm a craft addict! I see a project that hits my crafty nerve and I'm off like a shot.... gotta create, create, CREATE! Martha had this fab lil project and I just so happened to have almost every single item needed on the project list and what I was missing was miraculously in my fab SIL's craft bucket. I should mention that I can say, "Dayl, have you seen this new gadget... that new adhesive, this transfer medium.... and she most certainly knows about, where I can buy it, and more often than not, actually has it in her bottomless craft bucket. So... we sat down, my SIL & me, and cut, punched, oooh'd & ahhh'd over the creative process of these sweet 'n sassy paper frames.
The possibilities are.... endless. The following frame's 12x12.
I'm so tickled with 'em that they're scattered throughout the house. My hubbie's certainly tired of being asked which one should go where.: )
These lil cuties might show up in portrait packages.... you just never know...hee hee
is what this lil sweetie's got. Miss K is a delight to be around and hoot to photograph.... full of ideas, poses and looks. Her session was short 'n sweet, full of wonderful captures. Here's a tiny taste.
And we've been OhSewCrafty of late. I was inspired by a cute photo in Country Home's February issue. There was a cutsie lil frame covered in candy hearts.... so here's my own... filled with my very own lil SweetHeart.
Apple taunts and teases me regularly via email, hip and hysterical commercials... I ADORE that Mac guy!, and print ads. My list of wants, no, make that NEEDS, is ever growing... the Touch to replace my out of date original Shuffle, which quite honestly, is perfect for me and always reliable, a new eMac for home to replace the trusty 4 year old eMac, and the latest need is the ultra sweeeeet MacBook Air. I was lusting after it online and my clever hubbie spied it as soon as he entered the room..."Hey, what's thaaaaat?". My frugal conscience gives me a little pinch and reminds me that every Mac item I own works perfectly fine, is reliable and deserves my loyalty ( don't be a greedy CONSUMEr, viewing everything as disposable, demanding instant gratification). So, I'll dream and lust for new techno stuff but will maintain my " use what I've got bit longer, it still works great" stance. Maybe Apple needs a talented photog to test out a new Air for them... I can dream...hee hee.
More bits 'n bobs to add to my W.A.N.T. list. This adorable wooden game, endless yards of fabric....oh, criminey, gotta get back to making a birthday book for this fabulous girl...
Sitting, knitting, watching craft shows.... plotting 'n planning what to add to the list for January. This has been the most enjoyable holiday in years. My lil one's been playing with her dolls Gia, Julie & Ivy, totally dedicated to playing every spare moment left of her free time.
a bright and fresh yard of new fallen snow... the fluffy, stick to the branches kinda stuff! We live here in the ever changing mid-west for a reason. We LOVE the snow, and the spring, and.... you get the picture. We took Lili and her cutiepie friend sledding this afternoon.
Lovin' the new camera, by the way. Continuous mode worked fab for the speedy "flyin' down the hill" shots. Happy New Year, everybody! We're off to a great start.
on my Christmas vacation..... Welllll, I had a blast! My lil one and I continued our traditions of garlands & chocolates... not together, silly. We made a yummy cranberry and wood bead garland last year and this
gloriously long paper chain garland this year. Hand dipped pretzels last year and then..... the same this year. I was bopping around the web late one night, about a week before Christmas and found these. I fell in love instantly. I also became obsessed instantly, HAD to make some myself, even tried to convince my SIL to fly over to Michael's for craft supplies late at night...hee hee. She was the voice of reason and I waited until I'd finished my work the next day. So these...
turned into these....
Mt lil parade of perfection. I made 18, but have whittled them down to 9... just gotta share the luv, baby. I mean, jeez HEY! how cute are they? I'm even going to make a PDF pattern for next year to share here on ArtAtPhotoBlog. Here to after being know as Kat's Lil Gnome Singers....hee hee
For a bit of business.... Many thanks to ALL of my wonderful families for allowing me a peak into your lives. You've all delighted me and I sincerely hope that I've done the same for you. Artistic Attitude Photography will be open and making appointments January 4th.
And here's the end of our year, approaching with more speed than I care for. Lili's 7 and a HALF. Yikes! Off to make Becky's fabulous Chili dip for sit in New Year's Eve and a batch of chocolate chunk cookies... a request from the girlie. Great way to put the old year to rest, hmm? Cheers, everyone!
I would like every one of my blog readers to do something ... do just one simple kind thing for someone else today... in memory of Mallory. We received this very sad news yesterday... "Hi friends, It's been a long while since we've talked to some of you, and unfortunately we have some sad news that we thought you might want to know. Our daughter Mallory died on Sunday morning a little before 4 am while in St Louis waiting for a double lung transplant. We will be having a memorial service to celebrate her life on Friday Dec 7th at 10am at the Vineyard Christian Church of Evanston, 2495 Howard st, Evanston. Lee and Chris"
So... no photos today, no witty banter, just quiet time reflecting on what's truly important. Chris, Lee & Arron, we just can't come up with the words to express how sad we are. Please know that we're here for you if you need us. Kat
If you've met me, you'll most certainly agree that I'm not a high maintenance sorta chick... no fancy schmancy coif, no time to apply makeup... though I do wear lipstick in the winter (Burt's Bee Balm tinted chapstick...LOL), crocs, jeans and a tee are my wardrobe. So... my lil one comes dashing to me with a question...,"Mama, do we have any hairspray?" She wants her bangs, which are in the process of growing long, to stay over to the side... not for function's sake to keep 'em out of her eyes,as would've been MY guess... but "cuz they look cute with a bow". Well, I've been editing, running to get tissue for my weepy eyes, and ooohing / ahhhing for 3 days now. Remember...? Photos in the Park! 30 families in 2 days. I was constantly reminded of why I love this job... the fabulous folks that let me capture a few moments of their gorgeous families.... a new dad taking the utmost care adjusting his new baby girl's sweater, a big sister scooping up her toddler sibling to go for a walk, moms and dads acting wacky crazy jumping up and down to get their lil ones to smile. Here are a few sneak peeks. Enjoy!
